A truck driver and his passenger were injured in a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning just outside Hamilton, according to the Indiana State Police. According to Trooper David Poe, at around 9:10 a.m. a 2011 Freightliner box truck driven by 51-year-old Michael W. Hephner of Angola was traveling eastbound on County Road 00 N (800 S) in the area of County Road 51.

Hephner was taken by Steuben County EMS to Cameron Hospital in Angola and his passenger, 64-year-old Howard T. Beekman of Coldwater, Mich., was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center by Samaritan.

Both men were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash, and the ISP didn't know their conditions.

Poe was assisted by the Steuben County Sheriff Department, Ashley Police Department, Steuben County EMS, Samaritan, Hamilton Fire Department, Ashley Fire Department and Bill's Professional Towing.Adults may participate in Allen County Fair events July 22-27 at the Allen County Fairgrounds, 2726 Carroll Road.
