Man died in accidental drowning

The man who died Monday in a pond at Kekionga Shores addition died of asphyxia due to an accidental drowning, according to a report from the Allen County Coroner's Office Tuesday afternoon.

Adam James Palm, 31, was attempting to retrieve a beach ball that had gone into deeper water when he became submerged in a pond in the 10300 block of Missaukee Trail in southwest Fort Wayne.

A fundraising drive, with a goal of $75,000 for the benefit of his three daughters, has been established at www.youcaring.com/memorial-fundraiser/adam-palm-memorial-fund/200703.

The incident remains under investigation by the Allen County Coroner's Office and the Department of Natural Resources.
