Lane restrictions and road closures

Lane restriction

Indiana Department of Transportation announced a restriction of the Interstate 69 southbound right lane between Dupont Road and Interstate 469 ramps Tuesday and Wednesday so workers can install overhead cantilever sign foundation as well as pour the sign's concrete foundation and install the guardrail.

Both ramps will remain accessible, and the restriction will be removed Wednesday evening.

Road closing

Allen County Highway Department announced Hamilton Road between Harber and Smith roads will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday to repair a storm sewer. The road will be closed during workday hours only, and should reopen at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Stalled train

Due to a stalled train, the railroad crossing in the 2600 block of Covington Road is blocked. Also the same set of tracks that cross Nuttman Avenue is also blocked by the same train. Railroad officials are working to fix the problem. At this time no estimated time of a fix has been given.

Road closure

The Traffic Engineering Department of the city of Fort Wayne announced the closure of Fairfield Avenue south of Jefferson Boulevard to through traffic during working hours Thursday.

This construction work will be for the installation of a storm sewer line across Fairfield Avenue as a part of the Ewing East-West Phase 2 Construction Project. The road will reopen Friday.
