INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police say a 4-year-old has been shot in the arm by another child.

Indianapolis Metropolitan police tell The Indianapolis Star the 4-year-old whose name was not immediately released is in stable condition at Community North Hospital.

Police say officers were called about the shooting at a home on the north side of Indianapolis about 2:45 p.m. Monday. Dispatchers say the gun used belonged to a parent, and that the child who was holding the gun when it went off found the weapon inside the home.
