Fort Wayne Police are investigating the death of a man found in a car Wednesday in a parking lot in the 2200 block of Edsall Avenue.Police received a call at 6:25 p.m. that a man who appeared dead was inside the car. Police and paramedics arrived at the scene, and paramedics pronounced the man dead.

Police are treating the death as suspicious, but it was not clear Wednesday what caused his death, they said. Police also didn't know his age or race.

The Allen County coroner's office will determine the man's identity and cause of death, police said.

As of Wednesday, police had no suspects or witnesses, they reported. If the apartment complex – identified as McCormick Place by our media partner WANE, NewsChannel 15 – by where the vehicle was parked had security video, police detectives hoped to review it for possible information about the death. Crime scene units also covered the area to search for evidence.

Police closed the 2200 block of Edsall on Wednesday during the investigation.

Along with police and the coroner, the Allen County prosecutor's office is assisting in the investigation.
