Fort Wayne Police investigate woman's death

Fort Wayne Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Saturday morning in an apartment.Police were called at 7:56 a.m. to Regency House Apartments, 2440 Fairfield Ave., for a report of a female victim found unresponsive inside an apartment, according to police spokesman Officer Jason Anthony. Officers and medics found a woman dead inside the apartment. Per department protocol, the police homicide team and Crime Scene Units were called to help in the death investigation.

Detectives talked to residents of the apartment building.

This death remains under investigation by police, the Allen County coroner’s office, and the Allen County prosecutor’s office. The coroner’s office is expected to release the victim’s identity along with the cause and manner of death, according to Anthony.

Three Rivers Ambulance Authority assisted at the scene.
