A fire Sunday morning heavily damaged a home at 3505 S.Monroe St.
The Fort Wayne Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 3:39 a.m. Fire crews found heavy smoke and fire from three sides of the house, according to a news release. Crews put out the fire from outside until they could go inside to search for occupants. No one was found and the blaze was under control at 4:20 a.m. The fire had burned through the first and second floors, making the structure dangerous, according to the release.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze is under investigation, and crews planned to remain on scene until mid-morning, according to the release.
NIPSCO, Indiana-Michigan Power, Neighborhood Code Enforcement, Three Rivers Ambulance Authority, and the Fort Wayne Police Department assisted.
