Two shot on Monroe Street

Tuesday, July 15, 2014 - 1:26 pm

Fort Wayne Police responded just after midnight Tuesday to a shooting in the 4500 block of South Monroe Street and found two victims.

One victim was found with a gunshot wound to the lower right leg inside a residence, while the other suffered a gunshot wound to the right forearm and was on the front porch.

Both victims said they had been on the front porch of the residence when a 2000-05 dark-colored Chevy Impala pulled up on Congress Avenue and began shooting. They heard about eight or nine shots.

Police found two spent 9mm shell casings southeast of the intersection of South Monroe Street and Congress Avenue and a partially loaded black Glock .40-caliber magazine west of the front porch of the home on South Monroe.

Both victims were taken to the hospital in good condition.
