Police seek help identifying Courtney's Bakery burglary suspect

Thursday, July 17, 2014 - 6:57 am

Fort Wayne Police are asking for the public's assistance in identifying the burglary suspect captured in these surveillance photographs. Anyone with information that can lead to the identification of this suspect is encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers at 436-STOP (436-7867).

According to police, Courtney's Bakery, 6505 E. State Blvd., was burglarized sometime between closing on April 17 and opening April 18. When the manager arrived at the bakery April 18 the cash register had been moved to the back office and money was stolen out of it, and there was a big hole in the wall.

The suspect unsuccessfully tried to pry open the back door, police said, but then went into an unlocked vacant business next door and punched a hole in the drywall to get into Courtney's Bakery.

The suspect is described as likely a white male, around age 50, stocky with dark hair and glasses. He was wearing a baseball cap and gloves.

Police believe the burglary occurred around 10:30 p.m. April 17. This was the second time Courtney's Bakery has been burglarized.
