Lined along Main Street, between Lafayette and Clinton streets, fans came by the hundreds to cheer on racers at the Three Rivers Festival Bed Races.

With creative, homemade contraptions, and a fast team of five runners, teams signed up to the streets to claim their titles. This year included new categories, too, including Creativity.

The winner of the Speed category was reigning champions DeBrand Fine Chocolates. The winner of the Creativity category was newbie Get Fresh Farms, whose team members ran in vegetable costumes.

Even the Fort Wayne Derby Girls stopped out to say hello to the crowd during each heat.

Each team paid $50 to be in the race, but spectators, of course, got to watch for free.

People were able to vote for their favorite beds by donating $1 for their favorite team. All proceeds went to the Mustard Seed Furniture Bank, which donates household furnishings to those in the community who are suffering hardship.
