Prionda C. Hill, 25, of the 2100 block of Weisser Park Avenue, was charged Thursday in Allen Superior Court for allegedly hitting the back of a motorcycle and running over its driver after he laid down the bike.Hill faces charges of failure to stop after an accident resulting in injury or death, criminal recklessness and two counts of criminal mischief.

The accident was reported at 9:47 p.m. July 11 on Jefferson Boulevard near Jackson Street.

An affidavit filed in the case alleges Hill was traveling east on Jefferson when her 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix hit the rear fender of a 2001 Harley Davidson also traveling east.

After hitting the motorcycle and then its driver, Hill allegedly hit the back of a 1983 Ford Ranger pickup before running off the road and stopping in landscaping between two fast-food restaurants.

The motorcycle driver suffered multiple broken ribs, a lacerated spleen, blood on his left kidney and substantial scrapes and bruises.

The pickup driver was not injured.Fort Wayne Police responded at 12:40 p.m. Thursday to a report of shots fired in the 3500 block of Oliver Street.

The initial report said a woman was shooting at a white Cadillac, a police report said.

When police arrived, they questioned the woman, who said she did not have a weapon but had been involved in a verbal confrontation with a man parked in the street who was driving a red Pontiac Grand Am.

She told police she met him on Facebook and that he was from Chicago. They had been together a couple of times, but she didn’t want to be involved with him anymore.

As he pulled away, either the man or his male passenger allegedly fire gunshots out of the car window into the air, she told police.The Fort Wayne Traffic Engineering Department announced that beginning Monday, Fairfield Avenue will be closed between Jefferson Boulevard and Baker Street to allow the installation of underground storm and water lines. The closure is expected to last until the middle of August.

During this closure, Ewing Street will become two-way between Baker and Brackenridge Street; Brackenridge will become two-way between Fairfield and Ewing. Southbound traffic on Fairfield will be detoured to Jefferson, Ewing and Baker. Stop-controlled intersections will now be at Fairfield Avenue and Baker Street, and Baker Street and Ewing Street.

• Monday through Tuesday, the southbound lane of Freeman Street will be closed to traffic between Portage Boulevard and Taylor Street so workers can repair storm sewer manholes in the pavement.

• The westbound lane of Production Road about 300 feet west of Lima Road will be closed to traffic Monday for the repair of concrete pavement. The lane will reopen to traffic Tuesday.

• The Allen County Highway Department has extended the closing of Coverdale Road through 5 p.m. Sept. 12 for road construction between Winters Road and the Airport Expressway. A detour will be posted.
