Today marks one month since my husband has gone to a better place, along with joining my parents and his. I’m sure he is now happy. He just struggled so much this past year, trying to do things he thought he could do, but his body wouldn’t allow.
I was so happy I made that decision to have hospice come in to my home and help me to make him as comfortable as possible. His nurse, a special “angel” named Loretta, started caring for him before Christmas and visited twice a week.
With his disease, renal dysfunction, there were so many ups and downs. Just like being on a rollercoaster. But as his nurse explained, that is how this disease is. Some people can and do ride this coaster for a longtime, but Mike’s body finally said enough.
I have often thought these past weeks how can these hospice nurses (special people) to this job? My blessings and thanks go out to all these special people in this field.
Since last Oct. 31 I have lost my mom, my dad and my husband, and I have watched all these special angels care for my family.
All I can say is a big thank you.
