The English, Bonter, Mitchell Foundation has awarded Allen County Education Partnership a $60,000 grant to support the agency's early literacy program, Project READS.Community Action of Northeast Indiana Head Start is accepting enrollments for the fall. CANI Head Start serves children ages 3 to 5, and their families in Allen, Noble, and Whitley counties. Wilson Center, $2,500; and Oak Hill Farm, $2,500. Lutheran Social Services of Indiana received a $15,000 grant in support of its Financial Literacy Program from the English, Bonter, Mitchell Foundation. In the last year, LSSI provided more than 1,600 financial-literacy lessons. Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana announced it is a sponsor of the Child and Adult Care Food Program which provides free and reduced-price meals at no separate charge to those who qualify. Wilson Center, 1512 Oxford St.The third annual Busse-Fabini Cougar Classic, a University of Saint Francis golf outing, raised more than $75,000 for student-athlete scholarships. The Llama Lovers Critter Haven 4-H Club was recognized recently as the Outstanding 4-H Club for 2014 at the 4-H awards ceremony held during the Allen County Fair. They were selected from more than 30 different 4-H Clubs in Allen County.
