Lillian C. Embick, the founder and volunteer executive director of Audiences Unlimited, has been named Outstanding Nonprofit Leader of 2009 by the Association of Fundraising Professionals' Northeast Indiana Chapter.
Embick has served the Fort Wayne community for 37 years, and has volunteered more than 86,500 hours through her Audiences Unlimited work, a news release said.
Audiences Unlimited helps make the city's arts and entertainment resources accessible to older adults and residents of nursing and retirement homes. During Embick's leadership, the organization has provided more than 51,800 programs for older adults, the news release said.
Embick also helped Audiences Unlimited create an endowment that will assist the organization with funding a paid executive director in the future, the news release said.
