NIPSCO supply adequate through 2012
- From staff reports
The current lower demand for electricity means Northern Indiana Public Service Co. should have adequate resources for customers through 2012, according to a plan it filed Friday with the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
The 2009 Integrated Resource Plan is a planning document that looks out 20 years to assess customer requirements for electricity and evaluates options available to meet that need. With a lower demand for electricity because of economic conditions, NIPSCO expects to meet the needs for the next three years.
The Merrillville-headquartered company is one of NiSource's 10 energy-distribution companies, serving 712,000 natural-gas customers and 457,000 electric customers across the northern third of Indiana.
