WaterFurnace Renewable Energy announced Wednesday third-quarter sales were 9 percent lower than in 2008. The company had $36.2 million in sales, compared with nearly $40 million during the same period in 2008.
Tom Huntington, president and CEO, said in a statement, “We are pleased that we were able to maintain an earnings level in line with these lower sales. … As we enter the fourth quarter, we are seeing an uptick in sales orders, but do not expect to meet the record sales pace set last year.”
The board approved a dividend of 19 cents per share to be paid Dec. 1.
Consumer electronics and home appliances retailer HH Gregg reported a 44 percent increase in third-quarter results.
The company, which has a Fort Wayne store at 4201 Parnell Ave., reported net income of $4.9 million for the three months ended Sept. 30, compared with $3.4 million for the same quarter last year. The company credited the increase to a modest increase in sales, a flat gross margin and a modest decrease in operating expenses.
