Indiana plans to spend more than $100 million in the next three years on three large road projects in Allen County, according to the State Transportation Improvement Plan released Monday. Officials with the Indiana Department of Transportation plan to hear public comment on the plan in an afternoon forum today.
Those three projects, coming in the 2011 and 2012 fiscal years, are:
♦In 2011, more work on the Fort to Port improvement of U.S. 24 between Interstate 469 and the Ohio state line, at an estimated cost of $60.6 million.
♦In 2012, major repaving of I-469 between Indiana 1 and U.S. 27 will cost an estimated $37.8 million.
♦In 2012, adding lanes to Indiana 14 from Scott Road to Hadley Road will cost an estimated $12.6 million.
The transportation plan covers the years from 2010 through 2013 and includes dozens of projects in the county. Some are to be paid for by state or federal funds.
Others, such as bridge reconstructions or repairs, are more often financed with local funds.
