B Antonio's Pizza and the Franciscan Center have collaborated to collect canned goods for Thanksgiving dinner. For every can brought in through Saturday to B Antonio's Pizza, customers will receive one free topping per can — up to three toppings per order. The Franciscan Center needs cranberries, gravy, canned fruit, sweet potatoes, canned vegetables and canned potatoes. B Antonio's has locations at 10011 Lima Road and 5417 Meijer Drive (near the Meijer on Indiana 37).
Furnace donatedFire and Ice Heating/Cooling partnered with WAJI, Majic 95.1-FM Radio, to supply a 95 percent high-efficiency Bryant furnace, valued at $3,100, for WAJI's Majic Christmas Wish. Wishes may be submitted beginning Monday. Monetary donations may be made to Majic Christmas Wish through the United Way Agency, 334 E. Berry St., Fort Wayne, IN 46802. Adopt an ‘angel'J.C. Penney is collaborating with The Salvation Army's Angel Giving Tree by allowing customers to adopt angels online at www.jcp.com/angel. Customers can request an angel by location, age and gender, and a list of needed items will be e-mailed to the customer, as well as a link for drop-off locations in the customer's area and ship-to addresses for online orders. The customer then can shop online at www.jcp.com for the items. The program provides needy children and seniors with Christmas gifts.
USF Talent DayHigh school seniors may attend Talent Day on Dec. 4 at the University of Saint Francis. Talent Day allows students with an interest in art, communication or music a chance to submit a portfolio or audition for scholarship consideration. Call 399-7700, Ext. 8001, to reserve a time.
