I want to thank the Fort Wayne Police Department for calling our home at 3:30 a.m. to report that our garage door was open. We appreciate them patrolling our neighborhoods, keeping us safe.

A tip of the hat to Borders bookstore and all its customers for donating books to Kate's Kart. The books will go to children in pediatric units in 10 area hospitals. Thank you so much to the great staff at Borders and the customers for their kindness.

I would like to thank all the people along the route of the Fort for Fitness half-marathon for their support. Many sat in their yards and cheered us on; someone played the theme from “Rocky” while we went past, and we were the walkers at the back. It was very encouraging and wonderful. Thank you.

Thanks so much to the kind woman who picked up my debit card on the west Meijer store parking lot on a recent Friday. Besides finding my card, she also delivered it to my bank so they could contact me. (I did not know it was missing.)
