We have new neighbors on our street. I assume they are Section 8 since the Housing Authority was there before they moved in. They can't afford a rake, since none of their leaves have been raked. They will blow all over the neighboring yards when the wind blows. But they can afford DirecTV.

I got this nice letter from the mayor. He wants my support in fighting I&M. Yes, I live inside the city limits now, since I was quickly annexed before the last local election. However, my electrical service comes from REMC … . Will they be next to be “condemned” because the mayor wants the lines and substations that have been annexed?

What a joke! A deputy prosecutor for Allen County was found with drugs.

My daughter's arm was broken by a 23-year-old man, and she is 17 years old (a minor). My mother tried to file a police report, and they said my daughter had to sign the papers because she was the victim. If my mother or her parents would have broken her arm, we would have gone straight to jail.

I'd like to see at least two primary election challengers for the seat that Rep. Mark Souder, R-3rd District, holds now. He was for term limits until he got elected. His time is over!

After the Fort Hood terrorism, can you say, “Manchurian Candidate”?

The reason I voted for President Obama was that he was going to bring our troops home. Candidates say whatever it takes to get elected, and, once they do, it all goes out the window. This latest incident at Fort Hood shows the unfair hardships and great pressure our service men and women have to endure.

Mayor Henry, Mayor Spe(He)ndry, during the election you were friendly; Results as of late, have not been great; Chicago was my prior residence, seems like Daley's shadow is in Henry's presence; Why not start a new policy; be open, honest, truthful and friendly.

… (A local television news co-anchor.) Driving drunk on Aug 31 at 9:17 in the morning! Arrested for DWI. Got 90 days suspended (driver's license) and $25 fine! Shows (it's) who you know!

I'm worried about the future of our country. So many smart people are telling us this debt will be the death of our country. We're racking it up so fast, and if we don't get a handle on it now, there's no turning back.

To quote Ronald Reagan, “There they go again.” The Democrats had to pass their health care bill on a weekend, in the dark of night, when nobody was watching. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

It seems the FBI and other agencies were watching the Fort Hood shooter but failed to do anything. He bought a gun with an FBI background check, never notified. The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Watch carefully if you don't think Fox News is news. … Separate the Fox News programs and the commentary shows of O'Reilly, Hannity and Beck. One is news, the other commentary. Don't be misled by CBS, NBC, ABC, MSNBC and CNN that edited what they will report to fit their agenda.

After hearing all the bad things about Fox News, I watched it. I'm really amazed at the good reporting they do! From now on, it's the only channel I'll watch. They seem to be more honest than the other outlets.

Why doesn't the city take down the signs that say “No Thru Trucks”? On Creighton Avenue, every morning, dump trucks are going both ways. They're not going part way; they're going all the way down. The law is not enforced; take the signs down.

Why be surprised that health care (reform) is being rammed down our throats? Isn't that how communist governments treat their citizens? … Wake up, people. It's 1984 and counting.

So a social worker says people wanting government health shouldn't be drug-tested because she rarely sees a person who isn't doing their best to make ends meet? Well, let me put on my rose-colored glasses so I can't see people selling their Xanax and Vicodan to buy cigarettes and beer.
