Little Turtle Elementary School in Whitley County recently worked with Columbia City High School to raise money to buy Thanksgiving dinners for people in need in their community.

For each donation staff and students made from Nov. 9 to 13, a feather with the donor's name on it was attached to a turkey body on a bulletin board at the school. Little Turtle students and staff raised more than $950, which will be enough to buy 19 Thanksgiving dinners for needy families through the high school's Turkey Run Project.
