The Mad Ants' leading scorer from last season, 6-foot-11 Chris Hunter, signed a deal with the NBA's Golden State Warriors and joined the team Friday.
Hunter averaged 19.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last season for the Ants before suffering a season-ending injury. He was named to the NBA D-League second team. He was signed by the New York Knicks at the end of the season and spent training camp in New York. He played in two preseason games before being released prior to the start of the NBA season.
Hunter's departure leaves the Ants' roster at 11 players. The team must trim to a 10-man roster by Wednesday.
Hunter, who played for the University of Michigan, is the first NBA D-League player called up to an NBA roster this season.
