Fort Wayne's Ivy Tech Community College campus will host several H1N1 vaccination clinics at its vaccination center next week for all college-aged students and other at-risk groups.
Clinics will be held 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Wednesday at the Coliseum campus building (3800 N. Anthony Blvd.) in Room CC1306 free of charge. Those interested in receiving the vaccination should enter Door No.6 on the east side of the building.
The clinic will provide nasal H1N1 vaccinations for all college-aged students up to age 49 and injectable vaccines for those with chronic illness up to age 64. Children ages 4-18 are also able to receive vaccinations. This includes all college students, faculty, and staff in Fort Wayne, as well as their immediate family members.
Health department clinics
The Fort Wayne-Allen County Department of Health will offer H1N1 vaccine at its Carew Medical Park clinic at the following times next week:
♦3-5:30 p.m. Monday
♦3-5:30 p.m. Wednesday
♦9 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday
Both H1N1 injectable and nasal spray vaccine are available to those who qualify. Individuals within the following priority groups are currently eligible for this vaccine: pregnant women; people who live with or care for infants under 6 months of age; children and young people from 6 months old to 24 years old; adults age 25 through 64 with chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes or heart disease; health care workers and emergency medical services personnel.
Seasonal flu vaccine for children 6 months to 18 years of age will also be offered while supplies last.
