Thursday, May 31, 2012 - 6:23 am

Preliminary autopsy findings indicate that a woman found dead in a car Tuesday afternoon died as a result of a gunshot or gunshots.

Emily Diane Housholder, 38, of Fort Wayne was found shortly before 3 p.m. in the 1800 block of Sinclair Street. Fort Wayne Police said Tuesday that she appeared to have a head wound.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The Allen County Coroner's Office said Wednesday her death was a homicide. The coroner's office does not release how many times a gunshot victim was shot. Housholder is the 15th victim of homicide in Fort Wayne and Allen County this year.

Fort Wayne Police, the coroner's office and the Allen County Prosecutor's Office are continuing to investigate the killing.
