The seller showed up on foot and got into backseat of the car, showed them two iPhones, then pulled out a handgun and demanded money, the alleged victim told police. One of the men gave the alleged robber $600, and the other man gave him $1,020, they said, according to the police report.
After the robbery, the driver said, he got a shotgun that he kept in the trunk, loaded it and started driving around looking for the man, whom he describes as about 6 feet tall and thin, with a thin mustache. The man told police he last saw the man walking between some houses in the 1000 block of East Berry.Fort Wayne Police arrested two men after a chase from Fort Wayne to the Allen-Whitley county line that reached speeds of 90 mph, according to scanner traffic.
An officer pursued a vehicle carrying the men westbound on Progress Road through the industrial park near Coliseum Boulevard at about 60 mph at 3:30 p.m., according to scanner traffic. The officer said two bags he believed to contain drugs were thrown from the vehicle before it headed westward on U.S. 30 at 90 mph.
The chase ended when the men ran from the vehicle at 3:30 p.m. in the 7100 block of West County Line Road.
