Former Purdue men's basketball coach Gene Keady will speak at a fundraiser to benefit the Kendallville Area Chamber of Commerce at its annual banquet on April 18.
"We're honored to have Coach Keady in Kendallville," Chamber executive director Mike Walton said in a release. "He's one of the best basketball coaches in Indiana, ever. Five lucky ticket holders will get to meet Gene Keady and have their photo taken with him, and autographed."
The event will be conducted at the Kendallville Convention Center and tickets are available from the Chamber by calling (877) 347-1554 or (260) 347-1554. Also, the purchase price can be discounted if ordered prior to March 18. The dinner is the Chamber's major fundraiser of the year.
Keady's Boilermakers weree one of the most successful Big Ten basketball programs in history.
He notched 505 victories and is Purdue's all-time winningest coach.
With six Big Ten championships and six national coach of the year awards (second-most by any coach), his record speaks for itself. He is the Big Ten's third-winningest coach all-time by percentage (.661), and is second in victories (262).

Tickets for the banquet can be purchased prior to March 18 for (Chamber members) $49, (students with ID) $39, and (general public) $69.
After March 18, the cost increases by $10.
