INDIANAPOLIS – Calling Indianapolis his home, Jeff Saturday praised his former teammates and fans as he signed a one-day contract Thursday and retired as a member of the Colts.Colts owner Jim Irsay joked that the contract wouldn't cost him anything, but Saturday had requested a new pickup truck. Irsay called Saturday the “heartbeat” of the successful Colts' era from the late 1990s to 2010. The Colts held a news conference at their practice facility to honor Saturday.

Irsay said Saturday will join the franchise as an ambassador for the franchise.
