Fort Wayne summers are chock full of festivals celebrating culture and heritage, but one that largely goes unnoticed is the Fort Wayne Hispanic Festival, said Regina Elliott, general sales manager at La Unica 102.3. Organized by the local radio station, the Fort Wayne Hispanic Festival is growing by leaps and bounds each year, but organizers are still trying to bring more community members in to celebrate the vast Hispanic culture in Fort Wayne.

This year, organizers are asking children to come to the festival dressed in authentic Hispanic attire. Not only do those children get in free, but they are also entered into a competition later that day where judges will vote on the best traditional outfit.

Elliott said the event's main purpose is to provide the Fort Wayne community with an outlet to learn more about the Hispanic community in Fort Wayne. For more information on the event find La Unica on Facebook or visit the website.
