Fort Wayne firefighters battle blaze at vacant home

An early-morning fire Friday resulted in moderate water and fire damage to a vacant home.Firefighters from the Fort Wayne Fire Department were dispatched at 3:41 a.m. to investigate a report of a structure fire at 4015 Lillie St., according to a news release.

Upon arrival four minutes later, firefighters found a two-story home that had been boarded up, but had smoke billowing from all available openings and fire showing from the rear of the first floor of the two-story structure.

The fire was contained to the first floor and was brought under control in 22 minutes, the release said. No one was found inside the vacant home and no injuries were reported.

The vacant structure also sustained heavy smoke damage.
