INDIANAPOLIS — Authorities have identified a man whose body was found in the White River in Indianapolis.

The Marion County coroner's office said Wednesday the man was 35-year-old Sang Hup.

Friends of Hup say he was a Burmese immigrant who arrived in the U.S. eight months ago. They said he went fishing with others Saturday evening, and after learning he might have drowned, they began searching for his body. They located it Monday afternoon.

The coroner's office says the cause and manner of Hup's death remain pending.
