IU held Oakland guard Travis Bader, one of the nation's top three-point shooters, to his first game without a three-point basket in two years.
Coach Tom Crean talked about the victory, and more. Here are some of his thoughts:“Young guys a lot of times lose their focus real quick. That's where the game within a game because really important. I thought our defense stayed really good throughout the game.”“We rebounded at a pretty good rate. We felt if we could rebound, we could run.
“As good as our rebound numbers are, I don't think they're close to where they can be. I did some substituting for guys who didn't go to the glass. We're not looking for them to be on the boards most of the time. We want it all the time. Everybody on the team can rebound better.”“We switched a lot. We recruited to be a team like that, that could do a lot of switching. When you can switch the way our guards and wings can, that's a real plus. It has to become a real strength.”“We're going to need more than that in (the Big Ten). The teams are too good. If they don't feel you can make shots – we lived with that for three years here – then it's really hard to find things that work offensively when the other team knows that somebody can't shoot, or isn't making shots.”
