Film screening

Northeast Indiana Passenger Rail Association will screen “Trainsforming America” at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the University of Saint Francis Performing Arts Center, 431 W. Berry St. Tickets are $10 for ages 12 and older and $5 for under 12. Get tickets at http://niprafundraiser.eventbrite.com/ or at Visit Fort Wayne, 927 S. Harrison St. The event benefits the association's plan for a high-speed rail corridor connecting Fort Wayne to Chicago and other points east. A question-and-answer session with director Rebecca Sansom follows the screening.

Magical last Saturday

Downtown Improvement District promotes several events the last Saturday of every month in the downtown area, and this month features the magic of Dick Stoner.
Local magician Stoner will give free magic demonstrations and show children how to do some of the magic tricks he sells in his store 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Stoner's Funstore, 712 S. Harrison St. Admission is free.
Afterward, the magic continues 2-4 p.m. at the Allen County Library, 900 Library Plaza, where there will be a meet and greet with Ronald McDonald, a magic show and tribute to Stoner, and a performance by a ventriloquist. Admission is free.
