A state of emergency is now in effect for Allen County as declared by the Allen County commissioners. The city of Fort Wayne, New Haven and the rest of Allen County are under a winter weather travel warning. The emergency order and travel warning are in effect until 6 p.m. Monday.
Travel is restricted to emergency workers only. All other individuals should refrain from non-emergency travel.
All Allen County government offices will be closed Monday due to the state of emergency. City of Fort Wayne offices will be closed on Monday; only emergency services employees should report for duty.
Fort Wayne's 311 Call Center will open at 6 a.m. Monday to assist with questions and concerns from the public.
These closings for Monday have been announced:
General Motors Fort Wayne Assembly has cancelled third and first shift operations for Monday, beginning with third shift Sunday night and continuing through first shift Monday. No employees are to report to the plant. Weather permitting, normal operations are scheduled to resume for Monday's second shift. Employees should continue to check the GM Fort Wayne Information Line at 1-866-503-7755 for the most up-to-date schedule information.
The Allen Circuit Court and the Allen County Adult Probation Department will be closed. Allen Superior Court and related agencies, including Criminal Division Services, and the CASA Program will be closed.
All St. Joseph Medical Group locations will be closed.
All Fort Wayne Community Schools classes are cancelled and the district's offices will be closed. Employees should not report to work.
All American Red Cross blood drives in the Indiana-Ohio Region are cancelled.
Parkview Hospital Randallia - Health and Fitness Center will be closed.
Hopebridge Pediatric Specialists will be closed.
All state government offices will be closed. Essential personnel to report.
Classes are cancelled on the North Manchester campus of Manchester University. Critical staff are to report to work.
Embassy Theatre and its box office will be closed Monday.
All branches of the Allen County Public Library are closed.
Open mic at C2G Music Hall is cancelled.
Sunday's Komets hockey game against Kalamazoo is rescheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne's campus will be closed Monday.
Fort Wayne Community Schools announced school is canceled Monday. A makeup day is scheduled for Friday. Northwest Allen County Schools and East Allen County Schools are also closed Monday. All Southwest Allen County Schools district offices will be closed; teachers will not report for in-service.
The National Military History Center and Kruse Automotive and Carriage Museum (Dean V. Kruse Foundation) will be closed Monday.
Sunday's Komet home game against the Kalamazoo Wings has been postponed until 7 p.m. Wednesday. All tickets for Sunday's game (Komet home game No. 17) will be honored for Wednesday night's game.
The business offices of WFWA PBS39 will be closed Monday. PBS39 will still be operating and broadcasting normal program schedules for channels 39-1, 39-2, 39-3 and 39-4 during this time. Unless the weather and conditions warrant another day of closure, PBS39 will be open for business as usual at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
Citilink will not operate Fixed Route or Access service. A decision will be made about Tuesday service on Monday afternoon or evening.
All RediMed urgent care clinics will close at 3 p.m. Sunday for the remainder of the day. They will remain closed Monday.
All outpatient appointments at Lutheran Health Network facilities in Allen County have been canceled for Monday. All offices and clinics of Lutheran Medical Group in northeastern Indiana will be closed Monday. People with medical emergencies should call 911 immediately.
Parkview Physicians Group offices and clinics will be closed Monday. However, Parkview hospitals remain open and will provide essential services throughout the storm. Parkview Physicians Group's Allen and Noble County FirstCare walk-in clinics are closed.
The VA Northern Indiana Health Care System will limit services at the Fort Wayne campus Monday. The emergency room will be the only outpatient service open. All clinic and same-day surgeries will be closed. Veterans will be contacted to reschedule any missed appointments. Inpatient services will remain open. Employees assigned to the Fort Wayne campus should report to work as scheduled.
There will be no Monday collection of garbage and recycling. The city is monitoring the storm to determine the adjusted schedule for the remainder of the week. Pickups will be on a one-day delay. Customers should place their trash and recycling carts out early and leave them out until work is completed.
Taylor University, Upland, has cancelled classes and closed offices for Monday. The decision delays by one day the start of Taylor's January Interterm to Tuesday. In addition, office will reopen on Tuesday.
There will be no classes at Ball State University or the Indiana Academy on Monday. Burris Laboratory School will be closed Monday. Ball State University will be closed from 11:30 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Tuesday. All university offices will be closed, however, all essential personnel should report as scheduled or needed during this time. Residence Halls, Dining, University Police, and other essential areas will be open as usual. The shuttle buses will run until 11 p.m. Sunday. Buses will not run during the campus closure. The Noble County commissioners have called for all Noble County offices to be closed Monday.
Offices within the Noble County Courthouse, prosecutor's, public defenders, Weber Road building, Court Services and the South Complex will be closed. Front offices of the Noble County Sheriff's Department will also be closed. The Noble County Jail will be closed for Monday inmate visitation. Noble County deputies will be on shift for normal patrol. Noble County Highway Department will also be working to attempt to clear roadways.
The regularly scheduled meetings of the commissioners and County Council will be rescheduled to a later date.
