As expected, two of the area's best players will represent Indiana against Kentucky this summer.
Seniors Jaylen Butz of North Side and Malik Williams of Snider were named to the Indiana All-Star team on Monday.
Butz, a DePaul commit, averaged 17.2 points and 12.6 rebounds as a senior as the Legends advanced to the Class 4A state championship.
Williams led Snider to its first SAC championship since 2009, averaging 21.5 points, 12.5 rebounds and 4 blocks. He will head to Louisville next season and is one of four finalists for the Indiana Mr. Basketball award.
Williams is the first-ever Snider boys basketball player to be named to the Senior All-Stars squad.
Butz is the seventh North Side Redskin/Legend to earn the honor, joining Charles Lyons (1955), Dave Moser (1965), Frank Thomas (1976), Vernard Hollins (1999), Eshaunte Jones (2007) and Justin Jordan (2009).
The Indiana All-Stars will play a pair of exhibition games against the Junior All-Stars on June 6 at New Albany and June 8 at Plainfield. The pair of games against the Kentucky All-Stars will take place on June 10 at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and June 11 at a location in Kentucky that is still TBA.
Carroll coach Marty Beasley will lead the Senior All-Stars in June.
