Motown great Diana Ross has been added to the summer concert series lineup at Foellinger Outdoor Theatre. Ross, 72, a Detroit native who rose to fame in the 1960s as one of The Supremes, will perform at 7 p.m. July 16, promoter Pacific Coast Concerts said. The pop and R & B music legend joins an already star-studded concert lineup including Aretha Franklin.

Tickets for Ross' concert go on sale at 8 a.m. March 31, it says on the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department's Foellinger Theatre website, www.fortwayneparks.org. Prices are $59, $99 and $129, plus a ticket fee.

Ross' hits include "Upside Down," "Love Hangover," "Ain't No Mountain High Enough," and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love." Based on a search of The News-Sentinel archives, it doesn't appear that she has performed here in the past 30 years.

The Foellinger Theatre website now also lists ticket information for recently announced concerts by Franklin and Blue Oyster Cult.

Blue Oyster Cult, with guest artist Mark Farner, will perform at 7:30 p.m. July 7. Franklin will perform 7:30 p.m. Aug. 12.

Tickets for both shows go on sale at 8 a.m. March 24.

Prices are $39, $59 and $79 for Blue Oyster Cult, and $59, $99 and $149 for Franklin. Both also have an additional ticket fee.

Buy tickets at http://www.foellingertheatre.org; click on “Purchase Theatre Tickets.” You also can buy tickets by calling the parks office at 427-6000 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays or by stopping by the parks office, 705 E. State Blvd., during those hours.
