These scarecrows in the Bluffton Road community gardens have their glamour faces on.

The Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department rents the garden plots for $15 for a 20-by-40-foot space for the growing season, according to Lynda Heavrin, a parks department manager of landscape and horticulture.

“Interest is very high as all plots have been rented the last couple of years and I have a waiting list,” she said in an email. Gardeners grow a variety of edibles and flowers in the plots.
