The History Center released names of People’s Choice award winners from the recent Festival of Gingerbread and reported the event attracted nearly 11,000 visitors during its run Nov. 24 through Dec. 10 at the museum, 302 E. Berry St.

People’s Choice winners were:

• Student individual: Sydney Herbst

• Student group: Most Precious Blood Daisies Troop 51156

• Adult individual: Karen Peters

• Adult group: Cookie Friends

The festival featured 102 gingerbread creations from pre-kindergarten children and students through adults and professional bakers, the announcement said.

A total of 10,791 people visited the History Center during the festival, which raised $95,218 for the museum, the second highest total in the event’s 32-year history, the announcement said.

Festival of Gingerbread activities included the silent auction of some of the gingerbread entries. Money raised through the silent auction went to the History Center’s education and operations funds, the announcement said.
