Addison Agen of ‘The Voice’ to perform at WBOI benefit concert at Sweetwater

“The Voice” runner-up Addison Agen will perform along with Sunny Taylor and Michael Kelsey at a public-radio benefit concert.
The All-Star Benefit Concert, to encourage the community to support 89.1 WBOI public radio, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Feb. 17 at Sweetwater, 5501 U.S. 30.
VIP tickets will cost $75, which includes premium seating, meet-and-greet access, a photo opportunity with the performers and early admission. VIP tickets will be available beginning Jan. 3 at wboi.org or by calling 260-452-1189.
The trio is known as folk music singers/songwriters with touches of pop, rock, blues and Americana, according to a news release.
Agen, a 16-year-old Concordia Lutheran High School student, was named runner-up on Dec. 19 of this season’s NBC vocal talent competition “The Voice” sang renditions of “Lucky” and “Both Sides Now” and other songs on the show. Tickets to her Jan. 21 Embassy Theatre show sold out within a few hours of going on sale Thursday morning. Another show has been added. See below for more.
Taylor, a popular local performer, is a familiar face at area festivals, outdoor concerts and other venues in northeast Indiana.
Indianapolis-based guitarist Michael Kelsey is known for his percussive style and has performed around the country, according to the release. His most recent CD, “Falling Awake” is a mix of lyrical music and instrumentals.
