Restaurant Notes extra: Proximo preview menu set at BakerStreet with second date planned

We told you last month about BakerStreet Steakhouse giving a preview dinner for those wanting a taste of what they might expect at the upcoming Proximo restaurant after we broke the news two months ago about it going into Ash Skyline Plaza. With so many people excited about the new downtown restaurant the March 5 preview dinner sold out, so BakerStreet is holding a second night, March 4. We thought we better tell you now before that sells out, too.

Proximo, Spanish for “next,” is what’s coming from the Baker Street-Hoppy Gnome partners with a couple more people brought aboard. The Latin American restaurant will go into the spot formerly occupied by the Golden, which closed in November.

BakerStreet, 4820 N. Clinton St., chose the preview dinner to start off its 4820 dinner series and will feature Latin American fare and wine. The six-course dinner – yes, you read that right, SIX-course dinner – for ages 21 and over begins at 6:30 p.m. March 4 and costs $75, which includes menu items, a non-alcoholic beverage, tax, and gratuity.
