A new restaurant is opening on Coldwater Road.

We told you in November about Metro Diner, which has five locations in the Indianapolis market and one in Louisville. Now we know the opening date. It plans to start serving April 10, said Mariah Kulkin of TilsonPR.

The restaurant will open in the former Lone Star Steakhouse & Saloon spot at 5525 Coldwater Road in Coldwater Crossing. It’s known for “comfort food with flare” and started in 1992 in Jacksonville, Fla. If fried chicken and waffles, with jalapenos as an option, or Charleston Shrimp & Grits appeals to you, this is your kind of place.

It’s in the process of hiring over 100 area residents. Complete the online application at or call 260-387-6504.
