Hot wings and an all-you-can-eat tater tot bar are a home run for us.

Titans Home Runs & Hot Wings will be held 6-9 p.m. June 14 at Ivy Tech Community College’s Fort Wayne Campus, Steel Dynamics, Inc. Keith E. Busse Technology Center, 3701 Dean Drive. The event invites the northeast Indiana community to sample hot wings from around the city and pick their favorites. Tickets come with wing samples, beer, and that tater tot bar. All money raised will go to the Ivy Tech Titans baseball team.

First Base tickets are $35 and come with two wings from each competitor, two drink tickets, and the tot bar. Home Run tickets are $55 and include the wings and tot bar, plus a VIP beer pass.

See more about the ages-21-and-over event at titans.ivytech.edu and to purchase tickets.

Turning wine into food

Ruth’s Chris raised $16,000 from the sale of bottles of wine during its May 3-5 grand opening VIP dinners that it donated to Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana. The money raised will provide 64,000 meals.

The new Ruth’s Chris Steak House Fort Wayne, located in the new Skyline Tower building on Wayne Street, opened to the public May 7 with a special ribbon cutting and honored Community Harvest with the donation.

“We were excited to give back to Community Harvest,” said Ryan Rans, franchise owner of Hoosier Hospitality Group, in a news release. “The organization has touched the lives of so many Hoosiers and it’s our pleasure to work side-by-side with this amazing charity.”

See you at the Deck
