Man found shot won’t tell police anything Officers say he wouldn’t cooperate in investigation.

Fort Wayne Police are looking for answers after a man found shot Monday afternoon in an alley on East Pontiac Street refused to cooperate in the investigation.

At around 4:35 p.m. Monday, police officers responded to the 2300 block of East Pontiac Street after several callers reported a shooting victim who was yelling for help. Officers found the man lying in the east-west alley just south of Pontiac, according to police spokesman Officer Jason Anthony. The victim was alert and conscious, but he refused to cooperate and would not provide any details regarding the shooting, according to Anthony. Officers saw the victim had gunshot wounds.

Paramedics took the victim to a local hospital in serious condition. When the victim arrived at the hospital, a doctor downgraded him to critical condition.

Detectives went door to door to speak with residents in the neighborhood. Police had no suspect information.

The shooting remains under investigation by police and the Allen County prosecutor’s office.
