Five arrested in city drug bust Police raid hotel, finding heroin, cocaine and more.
Fort Wayne Police conducted a drug raid and arrested five people at a local hotel.
Officers were dispatched at 9:44 p.m. Tuesday to Country Hearth Inn & Suites, 2908 Goshen Road, in reference to a suspect with a warrant who was dealing narcotics, according to a police report.
Police found several people in the hotel room with 3.1 grams of heroin, 1.5 grams of crack cocaine, more than 200 grams of synthetic marijuana (Spice) and 18 methadone pills.
Police arrested Errick G. Benson, 49, of the 2500 block of South Clinton Street, on four preliminary charges: dealing in a narcotic drug, a Level 5 felony; possession of a narcotic drug and dealing of a synthetic drug or lookalike substance, Level 6 felonies; and a misdemeanor count of visiting a common nuisance.
Police believe Benson allegedly manufactured and distributed crack cocaine in the hotel room.
Aaron R. Balliet, 36, a resident of the hotel, was arrested on a misdemeanor count of maintaining a common nuisance and a warrant for violation of probation for two counts of welfare fraud.
Joseph W. Elser, 29, a resident of the hotel, was arrested on five preliminary charges: two counts of possession of a narcotic drug and unlawful possession of a syringe, Level 6 felonies; and misdemeanor counts of possession of paraphernalia and visiting a common nuisance.
Stepheno D. Thomas, 34, who has no known address, was arrested on a misdemeanor count of visiting a common nuisance and a warrant for three counts of failure to pay.
Rhonda S. Hull, AKA Rhonda S. Hall, 40, of Woodburn, was arrested on a misdemeanor count of visiting a common nuisance.
