Two businesses destroyed by fire Both Allen Co. fires occurred in a 24-hour timespan.

Two Allen County businesses are a total loss after they were destroyed by fire.

Multiple area fire departments responded at about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday to a fire at Klopfenstein Repair in the 19700 block of Notestine Road in Woodburn after several explosions and a fire occurred at the auto repair shop.

Police established road blocks up to a mile away in all directions for several hours as firefighters fought the fire that produced thick black smoke.

The fire was extinguished within two hours, and the building is considered a total loss. No one was reported injured.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.

Multiple fire departments from Allen County and Ohio responded at about 4:45 a.m. Wednesday to a fire at a grain elevator and feed mill at State Line and Hoagland roads in the unincorporated town of Dixon in Allen County.

The building was fully engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived, but had the fire under control by 6 a.m. when the building collapsed. It is considered a total loss. The grain elevator and feed mill had not been an active mill for several years.

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
