Missouri men arrested on card skimming charges

Indiana State Police arrested three men from Kansas City, Mo., for allegedly possessing an illegal card skimming device and fraudulent credit cards, according to a report.

Omar C. Sosa, 19, Adrian M. Boza, 19, and Alejandro A. Martinez, 27, were arrested at 5:15 p.m. Sept. 20 on Interstate 69 in Huntington County on preliminary charges of unlawful possession of a card skimming device, forgery/counterfeiting, fraud and possession of marijuana. The men originally stopped for a traffic violation.

Police became suspicious and one of the officer’s K-9 partner had a positive alert, resulting in the vehicle being searched.

Police found a card skimming device plugged into a laptop computer, more than 160 plastic credit cards, more than 60 MasterCard gift cars, tampering tools and 1 gram of marijuana.

The men’s arrest also led to the execution of a search warrant of a Motel 6 room in the 4300 block of Southport Crossings Way, Indianapolis.
