Bones returned to grave site
The Allen County Coroner’s Office reported it was notified Monday of the discovery of human bones in the 1400 block of West Washington Boulevard by a private utility subcontractor while burying a power line.
A local pathologist confirmed the bones were human and determined the bones had been buried there for an extended period of time. The Indiana Department of Natural Resourced Division of Historic Preservation was notified and the bones reburied in the grave site, which will be logged and marked with the Office of Historical Preservation as a burial site and protected, according to state law.
The investigation is closed.
