Do you recognize Auburn robber that Indiana State Police believe has struck in 2 states?
Indiana State Police investigators believe a gunman who robbed an Auburn Speedway gas station Monday is also tied to robberies in other communities.
Since the Auburn robbery, investigators have learned that similar armed robberies took place Sept. 30 in Logansport and Peru, according to an ISP news release. Most recently, armed robberies took place on Tuesday in Portage, Mich., and Kalamazoo, Mich. Investigators believe the same man is involved in all four of those armed robberies and are providing photos of the suspect in the Auburn and Michigan cases. One photo shows a silver vehicle that is the type and color of the one they believe the suspect used.
In the Auburn case, at around 3:36 a.m. Monday a man reportedly entered the Speedway gas station at 1117 W. 7th St., showed a handgun and demanded cash, According to ISP detective Mike Carroll. After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the man left and was last seen heading south. No one was injured and only the clerk was present at the time of the robbery.
The investigation is ongoing.
