Fort Wayne Police investigating whether four robberies Wednesday may be related

The Fort Wayne Police Department is investigating four robberies reported Wednesday and whether they may be related.

Police received the following robbery reports:

• 8:37 a.m. at Tillman Road Church of God in the 3700 block of East Tillman Road. The victim was an 84-year-old Fort Wayne man.

• 8:37 a.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart at Southtown Centre. The victim was a 60-year-old Fort Wayne woman.

• 8:51 a.m. at the Beckman Lawson law office, 201 W. Wayne St. The victim was a 54-year-old Markle man.

• 10:35 p.m. at the IHOP restaurant in the 6800 block of West Jefferson Boulevard. The victim was a 37-year-old Fort Wayne man.

Details about the reports were limited because the police reports were heavily redacted.

But in the first three incidents, it appears the suspect was identified as a white man. The nighttime robbery appears to have involved four suspects, a white man, two African-American men and a Hispanic man, the report said.

The suspect or suspects were after cash and cell phones, though the suspect apparently didn’t get anything from the woman at Southtown Centre, the police reports said.

The suspects reportedly had a handgun in each of the robberies, the reports said. One suspect allegedly also had a shotgun during the nighttime robbery.

In each incident, the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, the reports said.
