Fort Wayne’s Addison Agen ranks in Top 10 on iTunes chart with ‘The Voice’ performance of Britney Spears’ ‘Lucky’
Addison Agen was one of four “The Voice” Top 10 finalists whose performances on Monday’s night’s live show made the iTunes Top 10 music chart, giving them bonus votes going into tonight’s live results show.
As of Tuesday morning, Brooke Simpson’s performance of “Amazing Grace” led the way at No. 2 on the chart. She was followed by Chloe Kohanski’s rendition of “Call Me,” by Blondie, at No. 4, and then Addison with “Lucky,” by Britney Spears, at No. 5.
Keisha Renee ranked No. 10 with “All By Myself,” by Celine Dion.
Addison, 16, has made it into the iTunes Top 10 in prior weeks with her “The Voice” performances, which has helped her do well in overnight voting. The voting results for Monday’s show will be announced during the live results show at 8 p.m. today on NBC, which airs locally on Channel 21.2.
On the results show, seven finalists will be declared safe by viewer overnight voting, and three will have to compete for the Instant Save that will advance one of them to next week’s show. The other two will go home.
The iTunes chart standing is important because “The Voice” rules say that if, at the end of a show’s overnight voting period, an artist’s song from that Monday night’s live show is in the Top 10 of the iTunes Top 200 Singles Chart, the artist’s iTunes votes (number of downloads) will be multiplied by five as an iTunes Bonus.
Any iTunes song purchases made outside the overnight voting window but inside the cumulative voting window of 8 p.m. Nov. 20 through 7 a.m. Dec. 19 also will count toward the artist’s cumulative vote total, if he or she gets to the season finale Dec. 19.
