Fort Wayne Police officers responded at 9:47 a.m. Tuesday to Apartment B, 2423 S. Calhoun St. on a report of a suspicious person. The property owner called police after he heard noises coming from the upstairs of the vacant apartment, police previously said.

Police heard what they thought was a gunshot so they called in special teams that deal with barricaded suspects. Not getting any response, they sent a robot into the building that showed an unresponsive man inside. As officers cleared the building they found the second dead man.

The incident remains under investigation by the Fort Wayne Police Department, the Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and the coroner’s office.
